]]>Long time no see Cullumographers. I apologize for my lack of posts but several things have occured all at once and has just bombarded me:
- I am now currently employed.
- Graduation is right around the corner.
- Camila visited me in San Francisco and one night we end up drunk at a gay bar singing "These Are The Days" and two more JC songs I can't seem to remember.
- And oh yes, FINALS!!! I've got one down and I am in the middle of writing a paper and preparing for two actual exams and the last episode of a TV show I help produce.
So pretty please accept my apologies. Posts will be sparse until sometime next week.

As for the venue, I'd never been to the Agora before, and it really is kind of a neat place. Seemily old (yet est. 1966??), kind on the outskirts of the commericial downtown area, but big on the inside. It had a big dance floor area in front of the stage with no seats, and tiered rows behind with seats and tables. There were little veranda balconies to each side of the stage, and a full upstairs balcony. It seems to fit the kind of the music that is played there, indie and harder rock, typically. It was nice to be among indie rock fans again, it's been a while! I love being places where it's not really hip to be blonde. It was definitely a brunette night out. All the little indie college kids with their indie outfits and crazy hats make for good concert goers. They are hip, excited to be there, ready to dance and friendly. Definitely a change from the Pittsburgh Jamie Cullum show (eccentric rich white peoples love their jazz..). [source]

Nordstrom Introduces Music As Sales Rock
ADD NORDSTROM TO THE LIST of department stores posting excellent third-quarter results: Driven by a resurgence in its women's apparel, the company said yesterday that third-quarter profits jumped 26 percent to $135.7 million--while total sales rose 11 percent to $1.9 billion, above expectations.
The company said sales improved in every single merchandise category, with intimate apparel and accessories--especially sunglasses, watches, handbags, and UGG boots--performing especially well. For the fourth quarter, the company said it expects same-store sales growth in the low single digits.
The company also added music to its merchandise mix. In select stores and online, it will be the exclusive seller of the previously out-of-print Marvin Gaye "Anthology" compilation, with repackaged artwork and 47 tracks. Other exclusive selections include jazz ("An Introduction to Jamie Cullum") and "A Nordstrom Classic Holiday," a classic compilation with Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. (Last week, Target--which has long been in the music business--also announced an exclusive CD: Lil' Jams, a hip-hop and R&B CD performed by kids, for kids.)
Nordstrom said it would also market mainstream titles like The Killers, John Mayer, Justin Timberlake and Beck. [source]

1. HOW DID YOU FIRST HEAR ABOUT JAMIE?
I heard him on MTV in America, and since I am a jazz buff, I was very excited to buy the album. So, I made the grandmother buy me his CD.
Funny story: when I first heard him, I wasn't impressed. In fact, I didn't really like it (20something). So I put it away. About 3 months later, I was cleaning my room and found the CD, so I listened to it, and this time, I liked it! I thought it was so cool, and now, well, I have almost all of his albums. I think he is fantastic...
2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE JAMIE COVER?
Well, I probably would have to say..."Lover, You Should Have Come Over", "What Kind of Fool Am I?", "Frontin", (tell me when to stop...) "It Ain't Neccesarily So" & "Wind Cries Mary". I like them all...
3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE JAMIE ORIGINAL TUNE?
Now, that's a hard one...I'll list 3: "21st Century Kid" - Just a really great message set to a really great melody, "Mind Trick" - an all around fun song, "Back to the Ground" - what a great funky song...
4. IF YOU COULD ONLY LISTEN TO ONE OF JAMIE'S ALBUMS, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE? WHY?
Catching Tales. I love every song on that album, there isn't one that I don't like...
5. HAVE YOU SEEN HIM PERFORM LIVE? WHEN? WHERE? ANY MEMORABLE MOMENTS? [IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN JAMIE LIVE YET, WHEN WILL YOU?]
I've seen him live only twice, but I hope I see him more. I saw him first at Foxwoods Casino in CT in July. A friend of mine got us front row center tickets, and it was phenomenal! When Jamie stood center stage, we could touch his shoes, that's how close...The second time I saw him was a month ago in New Haven, CT. I didn't have 1st row, but I had 2nd which was just as good. Of course a memorable moment was him calling everyone on stage. Last time, I missed my chance, but this time, I made sure I was in front. A friend of mine was determined to touch his hair, and she did...awesome.

- It was my first Jamie Cullum concert, and it definitely wont be my last. It was at the Wiltern LG. The stage was so freakin high. It went up to my nose. But Jamie was so amazing. He came out with Photograph which was amazing. I absolutely love his voice. The photographs on the back screen were too cute. He was so adorable as a child. Get Your Way was next, and I absolutely love that song. Jamie was so cute doing his little dance. I dont know the order of songs after that, but the whole concert was awesome. I loved the way he talked to the audience. He even had us participating on some songs. On Twentysomething, which is one of my favorite songs, he had us do the bada dada, or somethin like that. It was awesome. Then they threw out kazoos and we participated on These Are The Days. I dont think mine worked, or I wasnt doing it right. Anyways, it was still awesome. [source]

I loved BSB because I felt like I was a 12 year old teenybopper again so that was fun but in terms of the artist being incredibly talented and me just standing/sitting there with my jaw on the floor ... I can't decide Jason and Jamie cause they are both disgustingly talented .... [source]

- I saw Jamie Cullum performing on a morning TV show the other day, and his style just caught my attention. Maybe it was the way he pounded a rhythm out on the piano, in between the melodic parts in the song. He kind of reminds me of Billy Joel, but he is definitely marching to a different drummer! - The last time I felt that good watching anything was the Jamie Cullum concert back in Singapore. The experience is surreal – it invigorates you and reinstates your faith in the world, regardless of how dismal it is. I’m happy that there’s such brilliance out there – the knowledge that there are things out there that could possibly alter your perspective of the world, for the better, when you need it, is comforting. It gives me something to believe in. Maybe I’m overreacting. But it’s the only thing I’ve been listening to lately. Every night before I go to sleep, I listen to the entire album once through, regardless of how late it is or how much work I have yet to do. It’s an addiction.
