But where's my audio Six Apart? Hrmmmm. I guess it didn't upload my embedded music players. So, until I figure this out just download the stuff or go to Cullumography.com.
Long time no see Cullumographers. I apologize for my lack of posts but several things have occured all at once and has just bombarded me:
- I am now currently employed.
- Graduation is right around the corner.
- Camila visited me in San Francisco and one night we end up drunk at a gay bar singing "These Are The Days" and two more JC songs I can't seem to remember.
- And oh yes, FINALS!!! I've got one down and I am in the middle of writing a paper and preparing for two actual exams and the last episode of a TV show I help produce.
So pretty please accept my apologies. Posts will be sparse until sometime next week.

Here comes my peace-offering. Thanks to another wonderful PNer for recording and uploading Mr. Cullum's radio visit to Kink FM in Portland a few months back! I haven't the time to listen to this thoroughly, but from what I've heard the DJ is a bad interviewer. But, you're probably not listening to hear him anyway. Hehe.

As for the venue, I'd never been to the Agora before, and it really is kind of a neat place. Seemily old (yet est. 1966??), kind on the outskirts of the commericial downtown area, but big on the inside. It had a big dance floor area in front of the stage with no seats, and tiered rows behind with seats and tables. There were little veranda balconies to each side of the stage, and a full upstairs balcony. It seems to fit the kind of the music that is played there, indie and harder rock, typically. It was nice to be among indie rock fans again, it's been a while! I love being places where it's not really hip to be blonde. It was definitely a brunette night out. All the little indie college kids with their indie outfits and crazy hats make for good concert goers. They are hip, excited to be there, ready to dance and friendly. Definitely a change from the Pittsburgh Jamie Cullum show (eccentric rich white peoples love their jazz..). [source]
- Parkinson’s endorsement is no guarantee of success: for instance, despite all the airplay for the clean-cut American singer-pianist Peter Cincotti, his last album achieved disappointing sales. A promising, if slightly airbrushed talent, Cincotti had the misfortune to arrive on the scene at roughly the same time as the more rumbustious Jamie Cullum. Most purists loathe the young man from the West Country; much of his material, it has to be said, is closer to pop than jazz. But, at his best, the mischievous showman at least reminds us that, during its most productive years, jazz was an integral part of the entertainment industry. [source]
Nordstrom Introduces Music As Sales Rock
by Sarah Mahoney, Tuesday, Nov 21, 2006 8:33 AM ET
ADD NORDSTROM TO THE LIST of department stores posting excellent third-quarter results: Driven by a resurgence in its women's apparel, the company said yesterday that third-quarter profits jumped 26 percent to $135.7 million--while total sales rose 11 percent to $1.9 billion, above expectations.
The company said sales improved in every single merchandise category, with intimate apparel and accessories--especially sunglasses, watches, handbags, and UGG boots--performing especially well. For the fourth quarter, the company said it expects same-store sales growth in the low single digits.
The company also added music to its merchandise mix. In select stores and online, it will be the exclusive seller of the previously out-of-print Marvin Gaye "Anthology" compilation, with repackaged artwork and 47 tracks. Other exclusive selections include jazz ("An Introduction to Jamie Cullum") and "A Nordstrom Classic Holiday," a classic compilation with Bing Crosby and Nat King Cole. (Last week, Target--which has long been in the music business--also announced an exclusive CD: Lil' Jams, a hip-hop and R&B CD performed by kids, for kids.)
Nordstrom said it would also market mainstream titles like The Killers, John Mayer, Justin Timberlake and Beck. [source]

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
When we finally kiss goodnight
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm
The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

UPDATE - I have one more participant, but need more folks if you'd like to keep this going!

Fifteen-year-old Nicolas knows showbiz. He's been an entertainer since the age of 2 and is currently learning how to play the piano. Maybe we can see this young lad belt out a Jamie Cullum tune or two sometime. For now, check out his ubercool official site and the photos he sent along. So, without out further ado....here's Nicolas!
[FYI - He's the one with his two thumbs up!]
1. HOW DID YOU FIRST HEAR ABOUT JAMIE?
I heard him on MTV in America, and since I am a jazz buff, I was very excited to buy the album. So, I made the grandmother buy me his CD.
Funny story: when I first heard him, I wasn't impressed. In fact, I didn't really like it (20something). So I put it away. About 3 months later, I was cleaning my room and found the CD, so I listened to it, and this time, I liked it! I thought it was so cool, and now, well, I have almost all of his albums. I think he is fantastic...
2. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE JAMIE COVER?
Well, I probably would have to say..."Lover, You Should Have Come Over", "What Kind of Fool Am I?", "Frontin", (tell me when to stop...) "It Ain't Neccesarily So" & "Wind Cries Mary". I like them all...
3. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE JAMIE ORIGINAL TUNE?
Now, that's a hard one...I'll list 3: "21st Century Kid" - Just a really great message set to a really great melody, "Mind Trick" - an all around fun song, "Back to the Ground" - what a great funky song...
4. IF YOU COULD ONLY LISTEN TO ONE OF JAMIE'S ALBUMS, WHICH ONE WOULD IT BE? WHY?
Catching Tales. I love every song on that album, there isn't one that I don't like...
5. HAVE YOU SEEN HIM PERFORM LIVE? WHEN? WHERE? ANY MEMORABLE MOMENTS? [IF YOU HAVEN'T SEEN JAMIE LIVE YET, WHEN WILL YOU?]
I've seen him live only twice, but I hope I see him more. I saw him first at Foxwoods Casino in CT in July. A friend of mine got us front row center tickets, and it was phenomenal! When Jamie stood center stage, we could touch his shoes, that's how close...The second time I saw him was a month ago in New Haven, CT. I didn't have 1st row, but I had 2nd which was just as good. Of course a memorable moment was him calling everyone on stage. Last time, I missed my chance, but this time, I made sure I was in front. A friend of mine was determined to touch his hair, and she did...awesome.
6. CREATE THE PERFECT JAMIE SETLIST. [10 SONGS MAX.]
- Get Your Way
- You & The Night & Music
- Wind Cries Mary
- Lover, You Should Have Come Over
- Mind Trick
- What A Difference A Day Makes
- What Kind of Fool Am I?
- All At Sea
- I Could Have Danced All Night
7. HAVE YOU MET JAMIE BEFORE?
No, I haven't. I would love to though...
8. WHY DO YOU LIKE JAMIE, THE MAN AND HIS MUSIC.
I think he's great because he's not afraid to try new things. He has such a wide variety of taste for a 27 year old, and I think that's fabulous. Good for him, and for us.
9. ANY ADVICE OR WORDS OF ENCOURAGEMENT FOR OUR DEAR, LITTLE JAMMY.
Keep on making music, and enjoy it while you're doing it, that's all that's important...
10. IF YOU WERE STUCK ON A DESERTED ISLAND WITH JAMIE [KEEP DREAMING] AND YOU ARE ONLY ALLOWED THREE [3] ITEMS, WHAT WOULD THEY BE?
Hmmmmm... Definitely a Piano... Beer... & a tape recorder that never ran out of batteries, so we could tape all the music made...

mention Jamie Cullum. I have a back log of information so bear with me.
...
- It was my first Jamie Cullum concert, and it definitely wont be my last. It was at the Wiltern LG. The stage was so freakin high. It went up to my nose. But Jamie was so amazing. He came out with Photograph which was amazing. I absolutely love his voice. The photographs on the back screen were too cute. He was so adorable as a child. Get Your Way was next, and I absolutely love that song. Jamie was so cute doing his little dance. I dont know the order of songs after that, but the whole concert was awesome. I loved the way he talked to the audience. He even had us participating on some songs. On Twentysomething, which is one of my favorite songs, he had us do the bada dada, or somethin like that. It was awesome. Then they threw out kazoos and we participated on These Are The Days. I dont think mine worked, or I wasnt doing it right. Anyways, it was still awesome. [source]
- Talking Head 1: [female] Jamie Cullum really like, for so long, was jazz I mean he was amazing. He just really you know, played what he wanted, didn't care who it offended, you know, really stuck it to the Jazz... Man. It... was a shame what happened. [source]
- Yet given the commercial success of pop-jazz artist Jamie Cullum, the vitality of outfits such as F-IRE Collective and the Vortex, and the bustling jazz activity in music conservatoires, is that a fair perception? [source]
- And last one.....because I went to 3 really fun concerts this year....in the order of dates I went to Backstreet Boys, Jamie Cullum and then Jason Mraz...I can't decide if I enjoyed JM or JC better....they were so good.
I loved BSB because I felt like I was a 12 year old teenybopper again so that was fun but in terms of the artist being incredibly talented and me just standing/sitting there with my jaw on the floor ... I can't decide Jason and Jamie cause they are both disgustingly talented .... [source]
- Jamie Cullum - Catching Tales
di Album kedua Boy Wonder ini, mencoba menyuguhkan alirannya dengan sentuhan warna yang bervariatif. Cukup enak didengarkan. Just try them all....[source]
- It’s time for the singer / songwriter cover rounds with Rufus Wainwright’s cover of the classic Beatles track Across The Universe, and Jamie Cullum’s cover of Everlasting Love. [source]
- I saw Jamie Cullum performing on a morning TV show the other day, and his style just caught my attention. Maybe it was the way he pounded a rhythm out on the piano, in between the melodic parts in the song. He kind of reminds me of Billy Joel, but he is definitely marching to a different drummer! [source]
- The last time I felt that good watching anything was the Jamie Cullum concert back in Singapore. The experience is surreal – it invigorates you and reinstates your faith in the world, regardless of how dismal it is. I’m happy that there’s such brilliance out there – the knowledge that there are things out there that could possibly alter your perspective of the world, for the better, when you need it, is comforting. It gives me something to believe in. Maybe I’m overreacting. But it’s the only thing I’ve been listening to lately. Every night before I go to sleep, I listen to the entire album once through, regardless of how late it is or how much work I have yet to do. It’s an addiction. It washes away my pains and loneliness for that time, and purges me of all my worries and fears. [source]
She opened her hugely successful gallery 20 years ago. Singer Tony Bennett has twice chosen it to exhibit his paintings with the private view last year attracting luminaries such as Bill Wyman and Jamie Cullum. [source]

The 40-year-old stage-lighting designer and technician was on a European tour in August, with renowned jazz singer and pianist Jamie Cullum, when he began to feel unwell.
His wife, Yvonne, explained: "Although Andy was very confused, he was able to fulfill most of his work on the tour. He finally became too confused to carry on and returned home. My main concern was to get him to the hospital to see what the problem was. [source]

It's the time of year when it gets cold and the rain is swishing around on the roads and gathering into enormous grey puddles that splash all over the sidewalks and mingle with the seawater the waves have landed on the shore. But I don't mind, 'cause inside my car, the heating is on and Jamie Cullum's mellow voice sooths the air, my windscreen wipers are on full blast, and I feel warm and safe in a island of mobile warmth and cosiness.[source]

And as far as timelines go, we went AU after Revolution. Right. Now that that shameless bit of plugging and come-play-with-us! is done... Tonight's Jamie Cullum, and I'm driving home with the parents for the weekend. And I should go pack before I head to my Shakespeare class. Meh. But! Jamie Cullum! [source]
I realized I haven't posted any Jamie Cullum tunes in a while. So, here's my peace offering, Well I Never live from Royal Albert Hall, reviews from some folks who saw Jamie perform that night, and who doesn't like photos? Here are some great ones from UrbanAtelier.
Saw Jamie last night at RAH, and have to say it was mindblowing! Last time i saw him (save the time we had a good old chat in a bar) was in Hammersmith and he's really got hold of something musically that so few musicians actually possess...it's called TALENT! You only have to watch TOTP or CD:UK to see that few people nowadays possess raw talent, and amazing ability to play instruments impecably and with energy that can move 10,000 people. Personally i'd like to see more young kids getting their teeth into "real" music. Although this may not be "classic" jazz, the same people that say this obviously miss that cutting edge rock music isn't still mashing chords, heavy drums and samey chord sequences! Times change, and you can either follow the music, or create your own paths. JC has created something good for music.
Charlie, London!I too went to see Jamie at RAH last night, truely memorable, tallent and energy, unfortunately all to rare these days. I will always remember last night as it marked my recent engagement. Jamie, thanks mate !!
Rob - CambridgeSaw him in the Royal Albert and he is an amaizing entertainer and brings the Album to life. its a grower but once you get it you'll be hooked. now waiting for the work he's done with Skateboard P, two of the most talented Musicians (in my opinion) joining together = Perfection. Keep it up Jamie your the most refreashing thing in Brittish music today.
